Behind the Business
My tremendous love of animals drove me to become a professional pet groomer. I attended the New York School of Pet Grooming in Manhattan. Now with twenty years experience I've worked in several salons and veterinarian settings and learned so much about the industry seeing how other places operate. In thirteen years of owning a salon I've adopted policies to make my salon the best possible experience for your pet.

I've come to realize each pet that comes to my salon has their own individual needs. From what products would best benefit their skin and coat to giving them however how much time they need in their session. It's very important to me to have the least amount of stress so I proceed at their pace. In becoming a regular client at Glamour Paws, it enables me to get to know your pet and discover together what works best.

1. Quality over Quantity....I greatly limit how many appointments I do in a day so I can do the best possible job. I even moved to a smaller space so I could afford to do less! I have found most dogs are afraid of the blow dryers needed to get them dry so I rely alot on cage drying because it is by far less stressful. (Most dogs fall asleep under a cage dryer ) And its perfectly safe (my dryer doesnt produce heat) Ive worked in salons that do dogs start to finish and I found those conditions very stressful for me and the pet. Faster is not always better! Working with animals is unpredictable...some require more time than others..I like to take my time and go at their pace so I can do the best possible job. As I get to know a pet and their needs I develop a routine that works for them and schedule accordingly. Pets are with me an average of 3 hours and I always contact you as soon as they are done...sometimes it can take longer depending on coat conditions and how cooperative everyone is 😀...2.Eliminating Stress....a smalller space means your pet can see me at all times which provides a great level of comfort. We have policies in place that put safety first as well as create the most calm environment. 3.Only The Best Products....with over 30 shampoos on hand we can customize products to your pets individual needs. I also have my handmade limited ingredient all natural soap which has become popular with my clients. I offer spa ad ons for even better results.My best reward is to see the pride in an animal leaving my salon....the way they strut...they know they look and feel good!4. Educate my clients on proper care and maintenace. Together I will work with you to develop a maintenace plan that keeps your pet healthy and happy. I offer low cost maintence visits,brushouts,just nails....alll to keep your pet feeling their best at an affordable prices. I recommend and sell professional brushes and products as well ,and will demonstrate how to properly use them. It is my great reward to be doing something that makes animals feel good and I take it seriously!5. Boutique...I fill my salon with merchandise I feel good about selling.Wholesome treats, professional dental and coat care products, and assortment of apparel, and lots of fun toys...I believe giving a reward during a visit to my salon only enhances their experience 😀 We all have a cookie break everyday in my salon!

Cat Grooming
I do offer cat grooming. As with all pets its important to prevent the coat from being matted! And it is very important to trim the nails at least every 8 weeks...otherwise they can grow into the pad or get caught on something resulting in an injury. I offer nail trims at 9am Tues thru Sat..On longhair cats dead coat needs to be removed on a regular basis to prevent matted fur. I offer brushout visits and full body clips. Alot of my clients will keep their cat in an all over fuzzy clip which helps keep the coat easier to maintain. It is important to me to educate my clients on proper coat management...I will show proper brushing techniques and help you form a maintence plan to keep your cat's coat healthy and tangle free. I also have professional brushes for sale.**My limits for cat grooming would be...I prefer not to shave incredibly matted coats...for safety purposes this should be done in a veterinary setting. Also for my safety I cant work with agressive animals.And it is my policy NOT to bathe cats unless they are accustomed to it because it is too stressful for them.
